Cabinet painting in Vaughan is the most cost-effective kitchen transformation available to local homeowners โ and because our spray shop is right here at 36 Basaltic Rd, there’s no travel surcharge and we can often book consultations the same week. We spray every door and drawer front in our climate-controlled Vaughan shop using Renner 2K Italian acrylic-polyurethane, return them cured and ready to hang, and leave your kitchen looking brand new for a fraction of the cost of new cabinetry.

What our Vaughan clients say
“Refaced our oak cabinets โ new shaker doors, painted boxes, navy island. Saved roughly $22,000 versus the new-cabinet quote we’d already accepted. The Renner finish feels like glass. Amir explained why oak needed grain fill before I’d even thought to ask. Real professionals.”
โ Marcus T., Vaughan (Kleinberg)
“We’ve lived in Woodbridge for 22 years and our cherry cabinets were beautiful but dated. Sara came to the house, spent 45 minutes explaining the process and the products, and the quote was fixed-price โ no surprises. Six days later our kitchen looks like it was just built. Spectacular.”
โ Giulia F., Woodbridge
“The thermofoil on our 2007 Maple townhouse cabinets was peeling at the corners. Arsh Art swapped the failing doors for new MDF shakers, painted everything in White Dove, and gave us the kitchen we should have had when we moved in. Zero disruption โ we cooked dinner every night except one.”

About cabinet painting in Vaughan โ what makes local kitchens different
Vaughan’s housing stock covers a wide range, and the cabinets in local kitchens reflect that diversity. Homes built in Woodbridge and the older Maple corridor through the 1980s and 1990s often have solid oak or cherry cabinets in traditional raised-panel and cathedral styles โ typically stained dark, and exactly the type of substrate that benefits most from professional refinishing. Oak’s open grain requires filling before painting (we use Aqua Coat, sanded between coats) and cherry’s tannin content demands shellac primer to prevent bleed-through. Both finishes, done right, produce results indistinguishable from factory MDF.
In the newer Kleinberg, Vellore Village, and Patterson communities built from 2005 onward, kitchens are larger โ 35 to 55 doors plus pantry cabinets is typical in executive detached homes โ and usually feature maple or thermofoil cabinets that are structurally excellent but aesthetically dated. Maple takes our shop-spray system beautifully. Thermofoil that is peeling near heat sources gets door replacements with new paint-grade MDF shaker doors built in our shop; intact thermofoil gets our BIN-shellac prep and Renner top coat.
Because our cabinet painting studio is on Basaltic Rd in Vaughan, we know these neighbourhoods well โ and there’s no travel surcharge, ever. We can often schedule an in-home consultation within two or three business days of contact.
Cabinet refinishing services for Vaughan homeowners
We offer our full service menu to every Vaughan community โ from Kleinberg estate kitchens to Maple townhomes.
๐จ Cabinet Painting & Refinishing
Our core service: doors removed, sprayed in our Vaughan shop in Renner 2K, cured, returned, and rehung. Works on maple, oak, thermofoil, melamine, and MDF. Available in any colour; two-tone designs (perimeter + island) are a Vaughan favourite in 2026. Covered by a 5-year written warranty on paint and workmanship.
๐ช Cabinet Refacing
Replace just the door and drawer fronts with new paint-grade MDF shaker, flat-panel, or raised-panel doors built in our shop โ while painting the existing cabinet boxes. The best option when doors are damaged, delaminating, or when you want a style change (e.g., from raised-panel to shaker) without the cost of full replacement. Particularly popular in Kleinberg and Woodbridge executive kitchens.
๐ Kitchen Renovation Add-Ons
Combine cabinet refinishing with quartz countertop installation, subway or mosaic tile backsplash, and soft-close hinge upgrades for a complete kitchen refresh. We coordinate all trades. Most Vaughan homeowners who pair cabinet painting with a new quartz countertop find the total cost still runs 50โ60% below a full renovation with new cabinetry.
How much does cabinet painting in Vaughan cost in 2026?
Vaughan kitchen pricing follows our Toronto rate structure โ there is no travel or distance surcharge because our shop is based here. Most Vaughan kitchens run $3,800โ$7,800 all-in, with the wide range driven mainly by door count and substrate. Kleinberg executive kitchens with 45+ doors and thermofoil or oak substrate typically fall at the upper end; Maple townhome kitchens with 20โ28 maple doors are typically in the $4,200โ$5,400 range.
| Kitchen type โ Vaughan context | Typical door count | 2026 price range (CAD) |
|---|---|---|
| Maple townhome (Maple / Thornhill Woods) | 18โ28 doors | $3,800โ$5,200 |
| Average detached (Vellore, Sonoma Heights) | 28โ38 doors | $4,800โ$6,400 |
| Executive detached w/ island (Kleinberg, Patterson) | 38โ55 doors | $6,200โ$8,200 |
| Two-tone island colour add-on | Second colour โ island only | +$400โ$900 |
| Oak grain-fill surcharge | Per kitchen (adds ~1 day) | +$300โ$600 |
| Refacing add-on (new MDF shaker doors) | Per kitchen | +$2,500โ$4,500 |

Our process โ from Vaughan kitchen to factory finish
Every kitchen we refinish in Vaughan follows the same four-phase sequence. The shop work is what separates our finish from anything done on-site.
In-home consultation & fixed quote
Sara or Amir visits in person, measures every door and drawer, identifies the substrate (oak, maple, thermofoil, melamine, or MDF), confirms the colour direction, and hands you a fixed-price written quote before leaving. For Vaughan homeowners, same-week appointments are typically available since we’re based locally. The visit takes 30โ45 minutes.
Door removal & shop transport
On day 1 we remove every door and drawer front, photograph each in place, and label them with numbered tags matched to a reinstall diagram. Doors travel to our Basaltic Rd spray shop in cushioned racks โ no rubbing, no chips. Hardware is bagged and organised. Your kitchen boxes stay in place; your kitchen is functional from day 1 every evening.
Shop prep, prime, spray, cure
In our climate-controlled Vaughan shop, every door gets sanded, filled (oak gets Aqua Coat grain fill; thermofoil gets Zinsser BIN shellac primer), and sprayed with two coats of Renner 2K Italian acrylic-polyurethane. Each coat cures 24 hours under controlled humidity and temperature. This phase runs 4 to 6 days. Concurrently our on-site team paints the cabinet boxes in your home.
Reinstall, alignment & warranty walkthrough
Cured doors return on reinstall day. Every door goes back to its exact original position using the numbered label system. We install or upgrade to soft-close hinges (standard-included), set alignment on every door, and do a full walkthrough with you. Sara or Amir hands you the 5-year warranty certificate and addresses any touch-ups immediately. Done.
A Kleinberg kitchen we’ll always remember
“The Kleinberg client had a 52-door kitchen โ oak raised-panel cabinets stained a dark mahogany brown, popular in 2004 when the house was built. Beautiful bones, completely dated look. The challenge wasn’t the spray; it was the tannin management. Red oak bleeds through even two coats of latex primer if you don’t seal it first. We used Zinsser BIN shellac over the grain fill, then a high-build primer sanded to 220, then two coats of Renner 2K in Cloud White. The result was a perfectly smooth, bright white finish on 52 doors that would have shown every grain telegraph if we’d cut corners on prep. That kitchen now looks like it belongs in a $3M new build โ and the homeowner paid $7,400 total.”
The lesson for Vaughan homeowners with oak cabinets: the prep system โ grain fill, BIN shellac, high-build prime โ adds roughly one day to the project and $300โ$600 to the cost. It is non-negotiable if you want the finish to last. Any contractor quoting to spray oak without grain fill is quoting a finish that will telegraph the grain within two years. We explain this to every Vaughan client with oak at the consultation visit.

Cabinet painting Vaughan โ frequently asked questions
Are you actually based in Vaughan, or do you just serve it?
We’re based in Vaughan โ our shop and offices are at 36 Basaltic Rd, right in the city. We’re not a Toronto company with a satellite territory; Vaughan is our home base. That means no travel surcharge for Vaughan jobs, faster consultation scheduling (often within the same week), and a team that knows local housing types and cabinet styles from years of working in every major Vaughan neighbourhood.
I have original maple cabinets from 2003โ2008. Can you paint them?
Yes โ maple from that era is one of our most common substrates in Vaughan. It’s typically in excellent structural condition: solid doors, tight joints, no delamination. The prep system for maple is our standard sand-prime-spray process. Maple’s closed grain takes paint cleanly without any fill step, so the project moves quickly. Most Vaughan maple kitchens in that door-count range finish in 5โ7 days.
The thermofoil on my Vaughan kitchen cabinets is peeling near the dishwasher. Can it be painted?
It depends on how much is peeling. If the delamination is limited to 3โ5 doors near the dishwasher or oven (the most common pattern), the best solution is to replace those specific doors with new paint-grade MDF shaker doors we build in our shop, and paint them to match the rest. If the thermofoil is peeling on more than a third of your cabinet doors, a full door replacement (refacing) typically makes more sense than a patch-and-paint approach. We assess this at the consultation visit โ no charge.
How long does a Vaughan cabinet painting project take, start to finish?
For most Vaughan detached kitchens with 28โ40 doors, the timeline from consultation to final walkthrough is 10โ14 calendar days: a few days to schedule the consultation, a day for quoting and project planning, and then 5โ8 working days of active work. On the active project days, your kitchen is usable every evening. We work Monday through Saturday and can structure the project to minimise weekend inconvenience if needed.
